Description

The deserializer board GMSL2 MDSER-GMSL2-4CH is a 4-channel embedded vision board for interfacing compatible Acuva GMSL2 IP67 cameras to an embedded processing platform. It is designed for FPD-Link III camera systems that need reliable long-distance image transmission, camera placement away from the processor and structured integration into an embedded vision architecture.

The MDSER-GMSL2-4CH supports up to four compatible Acuva IP67 GMSL2 IP67 cameras and data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps. Used together with The Imaging Source IP67-rated coaxial PoC cables with FAKRA connectors and NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ reference designs, this board helps engineering teams build robust embedded vision systems with less integration risk.

Deserializer board GMSL2 for Embedded Vision Systems

The Deserializer Board GMSL2 MDSER-GMSL2-4CH is designed for embedded vision systems that use remote GMSL2 cameras.

In a GMSL2 camera setup, the camera signal is transmitted over coaxial cabling from the camera to the deserializer board. The deserializer board receives this signal and connects it to the embedded processing platform, making it an important part of the complete camera-to-host architecture.

This makes the MDSER-GMSL2-4CH especially useful when the camera cannot be placed directly next to the processing board, or when the system needs longer cable distances, reliable signal transmission and multiple camera inputs.

4-Channel GMSL2 Deserializer Board for Camera Integration

The 4-channel GMSL2 Deserializer Board supports connection of up to four compatible Acuva GMSL2 IP67 cameras.

This 4-channel design is useful for embedded vision systems that need multiple viewing angles, wider area coverage or synchronized camera placement around a machine, vehicle, robot or inspection setup. By connecting several remote cameras to one deserializer board, engineers can create a more compact and structured embedded vision architecture.

For multi-camera applications, the complete system should be checked together, including camera model, cable length, FAKRA connector configuration, processing platform and software environment.

GMSL2 Deserializer Board for High-Speed Image Transmission

The GMSL2 Deserializer Board MDSER-GMSL2-4CH supports high-speed image data transmission between compatible cameras and the embedded processing platform.

With data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps, GMSL2 is suitable for embedded vision systems that need stable image transmission over coaxial cabling. This is important for applications where the camera must be installed away from the processing hardware while still maintaining a reliable data connection.

A GMSL2 camera setup can be especially useful in robotics, agriculture, vehicle-mounted vision, outdoor systems and multi-camera embedded platforms where cable flexibility and robust signal transmission are important.

Deserializer Board GMSL2 Compatibility with Acuva IP67 Cameras

The Deserializer Board GMSL2 MDSER-GMSL2-4CH is designed for use with compatible Acuva GMSL2 IP67 cameras from The Imaging Source.

Acuva GMSL2 cameras are built for embedded vision systems where the camera may be exposed to demanding installation conditions. When combined with the correct deserializer board, cable and processing platform, they support compact and reliable system integration for remote camera setups.

This makes the MDSER-GMSL2-4CH a practical choice for embedded vision projects that require rugged camera placement, high-speed transmission and a clearly defined camera-to-board ecosystem.

GMSL2 Deserializer Board Cable and FAKRA Connector Compatibility

The GMSL2 Deserializer Board is used with compatible IP67-rated coaxial PoC cables featuring FAKRA connectors.

Power-over-Coax helps reduce separate wiring by supporting power and data transmission through the compatible coaxial cable setup. The Imaging Source coaxial cables are available in lengths from 1 m to 15 m, giving engineers more flexibility when positioning cameras away from the processing platform.

The correct cable should always be selected together with the camera, board and mechanical setup to ensure reliable system integration.

Deserializer Board GMSL2 for NVIDIA Jetson Orin Reference Designs

The Deserializer Board GMSL2 MDSER-GMSL2-4CH can be used with compatible NVIDIA Jetson Orin reference designs from The Imaging Source.

This helps engineering teams connect remote GMSL2 cameras to a powerful embedded vision platform for image acquisition, processing and AI-based vision tasks. For projects using NVIDIA Jetson Orin, the deserializer board helps bridge the connection between the Acuva GMSL2 cameras and the embedded processing hardware.

This is especially useful for robotics, autonomous systems, agricultural machines, mobile inspection platforms and edge AI vision systems.

Software Support for GMSL2 Deserializer Board Integration

GMSL2 Deserializer Board integration depends on reliable drivers, SDKs and platform support.

The Imaging Source supports embedded vision development with device drivers, software development kits, end user software, programming samples, extensions and tools for Linux ARM 64-bit environments. Software support can help reduce development effort when moving from first camera evaluation to a working embedded vision setup.

The exact software environment should be checked based on the selected camera model, board configuration and processing platform.

Technical Documentation for the GMSL2 Deserializer Board
