Embedded Vision Solutions Built for Integration

The Imaging Source - Technology Based on Standards.

Founded in 1988, The Imaging Source develops and manufactures industrial
cameras and embedded vision components for OEMs, system integrators and
industrial applications. Our work focuses on reliable image acquisition,
practical integration support and long-term product availability.

We provide more than camera hardware.

We support the full embedded vision path with validated drivers, reference designs, accessories and software support. This helps development teams reduce integration effort and move from evaluation to production with fewer compatibility issues.

MIPI CSI-2 cameras provide a direct sensor-to-processor connection for compact embedded vision systems. They are suitable for low-latency image transfer, small hardware designs and applications where the camera and processing board can be placed close together.

GMSL2 cameras support high-speed image transmission over longer coaxial cables. They are designed for rugged embedded vision systems that need reliable camera placement, robust connectivity and stable performance in demanding environments.

FPD-Link III cameras extend MIPI CSI-2 functionality over longer cable distances. They are useful when the camera must be positioned away from the processing platform while maintaining reliable image transmission in embedded vision systems

Carrier boards connect embedded cameras with processing hardware, power, interfaces and software support. They help engineers build complete embedded vision setups with compatible MIPI CSI-2, FPD-Link III and GMSL2 camera options.

Integration Support helps development teams select compatible cameras, carrier boards, cables, drivers and software tools. This reduces integration effort and supports a smoother path from evaluation to production-ready embedded vision systems.

Over 35 Years of Imaging Experience

For more than 35 years, The Imaging Source has developed imaging
products for industrial and OEM applications. This experience includes factory
automation, quality control, medical imaging, scientific research, logistics,
transportation and security systems.

Embedded vision builds on this machine vision background. A reliable
embedded vision camera system depends on the interaction of image sensors,
interfaces, processing platforms, drivers and application requirements. The
Imaging Source develops its products with this complete system path in mind.

Solution-Oriented Engineering

The Imaging Source works with customers, technology partners and system integrators to solve practical engineering challenges.

Our focus is not only on individual camera specifications, but on how each component performs within the final embedded vision system.

Our team supports projects ranging from single-camera OEM designs to multi-camera embedded vision systems. This includes guidance on camera selection, interface choice, platform compatibility, driver support and production planning.

  • By addressing these requirements early, customers can reduce integration complexity, shorten development cycles and create more stable embedded vision camera systems.

Simplified Embedded Vision Integration

The Imaging Source products are designed to integrate into established industrial and embedded workflows. Support for interfaces and standards such as GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, GenICam, MIPI CSI-2, GMSL2 and FPD-Link III gives developers a clear path for connecting cameras to processing platforms.

Software support includes drivers and SDKs for Linux x86, Linux ARM, Windows, NVIDIA Jetson platforms, NXP processors and Raspberry Pi systems. This helps development teams validate image acquisition, camera control and platform performance before moving into production.

Our focus on validated components, documentation and technical support makes The Imaging Source a practical partner for embedded vision camera projects from prototype through series production.
